The CRISMA Program on Health Policy and Management (HPM) conducts interdisciplinary research, advocacy, and education to guide stakeholders in the organization and financing of critical care services in the US and abroad. We bring together health services researchers, health economists, and organizational scientists throughout Pittsburgh to identify and disseminate novel strategies for optimizing critical care delivery systems and improving patient outcomes..

Organizational Strategies for Improving Evidence-update in Intensive Care
This project, supported by an Outstanding Investigator Award from the NIH, provides broad support for Dr. Kahn's research program focusing on the relationship between ICU organizational behavior and evidence-based treatments in critical care. Specific sub-projects examine studying the interactive behavior of ICU care teams and improving the value of decision support tools in critical care.
