UPMC Presbyterian Cardiothoracic ICU

 

The 20-bed Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU) delivers care to adult patients who have undergone cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, heart and/or lung transplantation and placement of ventricular assist devices.

The CTICU specializes in patients who require:

  • Invasive cardiac monitoring
  • Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)
  • Mechanical cardiac support
  • Advanced care for severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)
