In the May 25, 2015 edition of The Wall Street Journal’s “The Informed Patient” column, author Laura Landro highlights Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC’s scheduled roll out of an EMR-triggered early warning system as a novel way to monitor patients 24/7. The foundation for this effort, which uses a software program called the Rothman Index, was published in the journal Pediatric Critical Care Medicine by PCCM fellow Yong Sing da Silva (Class of 2014), with CCM co-authors Mindy Hamilton, Chris Horvat, Ericka Fink, and Bob Clark.
