The March issue of the journal Shock features five papers summarizing the results of the Acute Dialysis Quality Improvement (ADQI) XIV meeting held in Bogota, Colombia, in October 2014. The meeting was jointly organized by the Department of Critical Care Medicine, led by John Kellum and Hernando Gomez, and the Colombian Academy of Critical Care Medicine. The meeting was focused around the topic of Sepsis phenotypes and targets for blood purification in sepsis, and the main summary, subtitled “The Bogotá Consensus," was also selected as an Editor’s Choice article.
Additionally, the cover of the issue features a figure designed by Gomez and Max Glider, which accompanies one of the articles, “The epithelium as a target in sepsis.” This is the second time one of our figures has been selected by Shock to be used on the cover of one of its issues, the first being a figure from a review paper published in the January 2014 issue.
