Jamie Murphy, CCM’s Pediatric Fellowship Coordinator, was recently awarded the 2014 Novice Coordinator Award by the Graduate Medical Education office of UPMC. Jamie received this award on Friday, September 26 at the annual GME symposium.
The Novice Coordinator Award recognizes an individual who has worked in their current position for one to five years, and the winners are selected based on the quality of the nomination(s), and their standing within the program and the GME office. This was Jamie’s first nomination and win. She was distinguished from a pool of six nominees.
Those who nominated Jamie included many supportive comments, including the following:
“Jamie goes above and beyond what is required … she manages multiple tasks and keeps everything running smoothly”
“She is always available when needed…she is a motivated person who motivates and energizes people around her…”
“On the interview trail, visiting top programs around across the nation, no other program coordinator came close to Jamie’s friendliness, thoughtfulness and excellent organization”
Dr. Melinda Fiedor Hamilton, Associate Professor of Critical Care Medicine & Pediatrics and Director of the Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program, says this about Jamie and her award: “This is a great honor and we are very proud of you, Jamie! Thank you for your hard work and dedication to the PCCM fellowship program and to our department.”
