Dr. Raghavan Murugan Comments on Personalized Medicine Movement in ICUs in The Lancet Respiratory Medicine

Dr. Raghavan Murugan was invited to write a comment, appearing in the January 2015 issue of The Lancet Respiratory Medicine, on the movement in ICUs toward personalized medicine. Dr. Murugan’s article addresses the possible benefits and potential challenges of adopting the principles of personalized medicine, or precision medicine, in ICUs.

The Lancet Respiratory Medicine, created in March 2013, is a monthly periodical that publishes original research, reviews, and comments on topics in the fields of respiratory medicine and critical care.

Raghavan Murugan, MD, MS, FRCP, FCCP is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Critical Care Medicine and the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. His research interests span a number of domains in critical illness including sepsis, acute kidney injury, organ transplantation, and mechanisms of recovery from organ dysfunction.
