CCM's Mohan has Viewpoint featured in November's JAMA

In this piece about conquering diagnostic error, CCM's Deepika Mohan, MD, MPH, makes the case for video games as a learning tool in continuing medical education.

Mohan argues that heuristics can be improved if clinicians are able to practice diagnoses in an environment which offers routine feedback on the repercussions of diagnostic error, thereby exposing physicians to potentially limitless experience that would otherwise be difficult to come by with any amount of regularity.

Night Shift, an effort led by Mohan to use games in an attempt to transform clinician heuristics, has shown substantial promise in preliminary testing.
