Dr. Kissoon is an internationally recognized leader in the fields of pediatric critical care, sepsis, and global health. He has contributed to over 300 peer reviewed publications, authored over 70 book chapters, and he sits on the editorial boards of 10 journals. Dr. Kissoon was awarded a Distinguished Career Award by the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2013, and the prestigious Society of Critical Care Medicine’s (SCCM) Master of Critical Care Medicine award in 2015. His work in improving the ability to provide timely service to critically ill children in resource-limited areas includes a recent trial of a predictive model of the need for hospitalization in children under five in Bangladesh (PLoS One, 2015 Nov 18).
